Family Wakes Up to Find Holiday Home Sealed Shut by Snow in Scotland

A family staying at a holiday house in Moray, Scotland, got an unexpected shock on the morning of January 4 when they discovered their accommodation had been taken over by winter overnight.

After noticing the heating hadn’t switched on, the family headed downstairs to investigate. When they reached the kitchen, they were met with an unusual sight — they couldn’t see outside the door at all.

Curious and confused, they opened it, only to find that heavy snowfall had piled up so high it had completely blocked the entrance, sealing the door shut with a solid wall of snow.

Despite the surprise, the family couldn’t help but laugh at the situation, stunned by just how quickly the snowfall had transformed their surroundings. The moment was captured on camera, perfectly illustrating the dramatic and unpredictable nature of a Scottish winter.

The images show the sheer force of the overnight snowfall, highlighting how rapidly conditions can change during severe winter weather across parts of Scotland.
