Viral Stories A rare albino buffalo nicknamed “Donald Trump” has become an internet sensation in Bangladesh by Emily Harper May 25, 2026 written by Emily Harper May 25, 2026 0 comments 886 A massive 700-kilogram albino buffalo has unexpectedly become one of Bangladesh’s most talked-about animals after locals began comparing its appearance to Donald Trump. The buffalo, owned by farmer Zia Uddin Mridha in Narayanganj, just outside Dhaka, earned the nickname because of its unusual blond-colored mane, which naturally falls across its head in a style many say resembles Trump’s famous hairstyle. As photos and videos spread online, crowds of curious visitors began arriving at the farm to see the animal in person, quickly turning the buffalo into a local celebrity. 🐃 An extremely rare animal According to Bangladesh’s Department of Livestock Services, albino buffaloes are exceptionally uncommon. The condition is caused by a complete lack of melanin, leaving the animals with pale white or pink skin and light-colored hair. The buffalo’s striking appearance immediately made it stand out from ordinary livestock, especially in rural areas where such genetic rarity is almost never seen. Children, tourists, and social media creators reportedly traveled long distances to photograph and film the animal, helping its popularity explode online. 📱 Internet fame brought unexpected problems While the attention initially brought excitement to the farm, the owner later admitted the situation quickly became overwhelming. Mridha explained that the constant crowds and nonstop activity began causing stress for the buffalo, which reportedly started losing weight due to the endless stream of visitors. To protect the animal, the farm eventually restricted public access and reduced viewing hours. Despite its growing fame, the buffalo continues to receive intensive daily care, including regular bathing and grooming several times a day. 🕌 The buffalo is expected to be sacrificed during Eid al-Adha The story has also drawn attention because of the animal’s fate. The buffalo is reportedly being prepared for sale ahead of Eid al-Adha, one of the most important Islamic holidays, during which millions of livestock animals are sacrificed across Bangladesh and other Muslim-majority countries. Every year, the celebration involves the slaughter of enormous numbers of cattle, goats, sheep, and buffalo as part of religious tradition. Reports estimate that more than 12 million animals are sacrificed during the holiday season throughout Bangladesh alone. 🧠 A viral symbol of internet culture The unusual combination of the buffalo’s appearance, political nickname, and rare genetic condition transformed what would normally be an ordinary farm animal into an international viral story. For many online users, the animal became another example of how social media can turn even the most unexpected subjects into global sensations overnight. At the same time, the story also sparked debate about animal welfare, internet fame, and the pressure placed on rare animals once they attract worldwide attention.
